Taking the leap

Sitting down in my final year of university I found myself questioning not what I wanted to do next, but instead where I wanted to go next. I feel that there is a massive pressured pushed onto final year students to apply for graduate jobs and it is perhaps suggested unintentionally that this is the only option for after university.

I fell into that trap to begin with and began to applied for graduate jobs, I was thankful to be accepted into different businesses but I ended up sending the same email to them all:

“I am sorry I do not wish to continue with my application as I believe that this is not the correct step for myself to be taking. I am going to be taking some time to continue my passion of travelling. I hope that you are able to understand that and will consider future applications from myself.”

So now having made the decision to travel I asked myself the question, where are the most surreal places to visit? I started to make a list of everywhere and everything that I wanted to see, this was a very long list. But I was able to narrow it down quite quickly to Australia. So that’s where I am now, living life down under.

From that point I started to look into possible ways about how I was going to make that possible. I decided quite quickly, after having spent many of summers working at a summer camp, that I would like to come out to Australia to begin with as as Au Pair. I am currently coming towards the end of my time au pairing but then I am going on to pretty much travel the entire country,

I have (re)started this blog to share my experiences with other people and to hopefully help answer any questions people may have about making the big move to another country for a long period of time, advice on little trips that I have taken, my experience with Camp America (as this holds a massive place in my heart) and more tailored posts focusing on my time here in Australia (day trips and my longer travel periods.)
